- Genera: Chloridopsis, Meiosquilla,
Oratosquilla, Acanthosquilla, + Gonodactylids
(except for Hemisquilla) Maintenance: maintained
individually at their respective ocean temperatures
(20-27 C) in 8" x 4" x 4" or 10" x
6" x 4" compartments (depending on the size of
the specimens) of sea water tables or plastic boxes. Sand
was provided, as well as a burrow made of a black painted
flask. Natural sea water was either circulated in the
compartments or changed twice weekly.
- Genera: Harpiosquilla, Hemisquilla,
Odontodactylus, Squilla (these are larger types);
Maintenance: 25 to 100 gallon aquaria with circulating
sea water at their respective ocean temperatures.
- Food: animals were fed pieces of fish,
mollluscs, crustaceans, twice weekly.
- Survivability: More than a year.
